Rain & Winds Home Boarding Terms & Conditions

 

These terms apply to home boarding provided by Rain & Winds Pet Care and should be read alongside the client's existing Dog Information Form, Veterinary Release Form and general Rain & Winds Terms & Conditions.

Home boarding is currently offered on a limited basis to existing Rain & Winds clients whose dogs are already known to me. All bookings are subject to continued suitability.

 

1. Suitability for Boarding

The owner confirms that all information previously provided about their dog remains accurate and agrees to inform Rain & Winds of any changes in health, behaviour or circumstances before the boarding stay.

This includes, but is not limited to, changes involving aggression, resource guarding, separation distress, escape behaviour, toileting, illness, injury or infectious disease.

Rain & Winds reserves the right to decline or end a boarding arrangement if a dog's behaviour, health or welfare needs make continued boarding unsuitable or unsafe.

 

2. Home Environment

Dogs are cared for within my home as part of a normal household environment rather than a kennel setting.

The owner understands that reasonable household management may be used where necessary, including the use of doors, baby gates or separate rooms to allow dogs to rest, eat safely or have time apart.

Dogs will not be routinely crated unless this has been specifically discussed with the owner and the dog is already comfortable and accustomed to crate use.

 

3. Other Dogs

Boarding dogs may share the home, garden or walks with my own dog, Rain and other dogs where appropriate.

I will manage introductions, feeding, resting areas, toys and interactions according to the individual dogs involved and may separate dogs whenever I consider this appropriate for safety or welfare.

The owner agrees to disclose any known concerns regarding their dog's behaviour around other dogs within the home.

 

4. Feeding and Routine

Owners should provide sufficient food for the duration of the stay together with any necessary feeding instructions.

I will aim to maintain the dog's normal routine where reasonably practical, although meal times, walks, sleeping arrangements and daily routines may vary slightly within the normal running of the household.

 

5. Walks and Exercise

Exercise will be appropriate to the dog's usual routine, age, health and behaviour.

Walk duration, location or activity may be adjusted because of weather, temperature, health concerns, behaviour or other circumstances where I believe this is in the dog's best interests.

Existing permissions regarding off-lead exercise continue to apply unless otherwise agreed.

 

6. Health and Veterinary Treatment

The owner's existing Veterinary Release Form remains applicable during boarding.

If veterinary treatment is required, reasonable attempts will be made to contact the owner or their emergency contact. Where urgent treatment is required and contact cannot be made, Rain & Winds may seek veterinary assistance in accordance with the authority already provided.

Veterinary fees and other treatment costs relating to the dog's own illness, injury or existing condition remain the owner's responsibility.

 

7. Emergency Contact

The owner must provide an emergency contact who is available during the boarding period and, where reasonably possible, capable of collecting or taking responsibility for the dog if the stay cannot continue.

If a dog becomes unsuitable for home boarding because of significant behavioural, medical or welfare concerns, the owner or emergency contact may be required to arrange collection.

 

8. Damage

Dogs are expected to behave appropriately within a domestic home.

Normal wear, muddy paws and minor accidental damage are accepted as part of caring for dogs. However, the owner may be asked to cover the reasonable cost of significant damage caused by behaviour that was not previously disclosed, including substantial chewing, scratching or deliberate destructive behaviour.

 

9. Drop-off and Collection

Drop-off and collection times should be agreed in advance.

If collection is significantly delayed or an additional night of care becomes necessary, an additional boarding charge may apply.

 

10. Cancellation

Any cancellation terms agreed within the main Rain & Winds Terms & Conditions will also apply to boarding unless different arrangements are agreed at the time of booking.

 

11. Owner Confirmation

By booking home boarding with Rain & Winds Pet Care, the owner confirms that:

- the information held about their dog is accurate and up to date;

- they have disclosed anything that may reasonably affect the dog's suitability for staying within a home environment;

- they understand that their dog may share the home and outdoor spaces with Rain and other dogs where appropriate;

- they authorise reasonable separation and household management where necessary for safety or welfare; and

- they agree to these Home Boarding Terms & Conditions alongside their existing Rain & Winds documentation.
